the basics;
full name;; Andrea Wilson name meanings;; Andrea - courageous nicknames;; none, just Andrea age;; 13 birthday;; April the first bloodline;; half-blood or thereabouts house;; alliance;; definitely for the light, for the good side!
appearance; Andrea is somewhat timid, slim slip of a girl, with a snub nose and a dimple in her left cheek, which only shows when she's smiling cheerfully - and that has been rare - since her mother's death. She's Caucasion, tans easily and has straight, long, golden-brown hair, greyish-blue eyes, which tend to change slightly according to her mood.
She's got a dimple in her left cheek, which appears when she's laughing, but since she tends to be rather serious, it doesn't show up too often at present.
Andrea isn't what you'd call tidy and she doesn't care much about clothes, but prefers to be comfortable, even if sometimes she does like wearing dresses. Her hair is usually left open and allowed to fall over her shoulder. If she's embarrassed or ashame, she tends to shake it over her face and hides behind it.
The girl looks very sweet and almost angelic, but looks can deceive, though often her wide-eyed innocence may save her from a scolding at first and belie the the outrageous things she may have said, making people doubt their hearing or misunderstand until they wisen up to what she's been doing.
As to her voice, that is rather melodious and carrying, which somehow doesn't fit her sarcasm.
celebrity representative;; none! I'd prefer leaving her exact appearence to everyone's imagination-
personality; strengths;; honesty, highly intelligent, extremely good with animals good at reading characters has a lot of imagination inveterate bookworm courageous when absolutely necessary, but only then good at potions very reliable tries to be fair tolerant will always stick up for her friends
flaws;; lazy has got a temper and tends to fly into rages, then lashes out at all and sundry a dreamer tends to sulk disregards rules if she doesn't understand their necessity very shy impatient except with animals insecure stubborn tothe point of pig-headed
quirks;; rubs one leg on the other when nervous or ashamed twirls strands of hair in her fingers when nervous tends to skip and bounce around when happy scratches and bites on her nails when afraid tends to quote poetry to herself in her head when she wants to give herself strength. May say it out aloud inadvertedly on occassion ...
boggart; her mum being crucioed and killed
patronus; a large cat
secrets; she feels somewhat guilty for her mother's death, even if rationally speaking, she knows she not to blame.
habits; Reads in every conceiveable and inconceiveable place. Andrea without a book in her pocket - almost impossible!
likes;; animals friends honesty humour books playing games nature dreaming playing with her cat Joy solitude honesty being able to depend on people curling up in an armchair with a cup of tea and a favourite book, her cat on her lap messing around with potions being liked playing catch-me
dislikes;; lies and dishonesty cruelty injustice having to practice a lot obeying rules and oders bullying being false and hypocritical flattery spiders having to apologise for a misdeed abusing trust placed in them unreliabilty eating spinach (urgh!) being bored having to tidy her room being ignored being put over someone's knee (Her father did that once when she was six and went into his potions' lab when he wasn't there and started to play around with the various substsances. Luckily, her father came in soon enough to prevent a catastorphe and he didn't waste any time in pulling her over his lap and administering a spanking, she's never forgotten, lecturing her all the while. He made sure that Andrea wasn't able to sit painlessly for that day and threatened that if she ever endangered herself like that again, he'd use a cane and instead of his hands and on her bare bottom, too. This left such an impression on the girl, that she's never done anything like this again.)
personality overview;; She's grown even more timid due to her mother's death and her father's distanced treatment. She is fiercely honest and virtually incapable of lying, even though she won't necessarily tell people things. She'd rather keep quiet about those things, which matter. The girl has a great sense of humour, but can also be sarcastic and may say the most outrageous things in the sweetest voice on occassion, so that people may not even realise what she's said at first, thus sometimes allowing her to get off scot-free. It generally takes some time to dawn on them what exactly this sweet and innocent looking child before them has just said, though they may grow wise to that after a while. Her grandparents have succeeded in spoiling her thoroughly in order to make up for her mother's death and in consequence have showered her with presents and never said nay if they could just possibly say yes. Whenever she visits either of her grandparents, she is more or less allowed to run wild in the countryside, while her father restricts her severely to quarters and ignores her when she disobeys. Being ignored is something the girl hates, since she is rather insecure and she'd prefer any other punishment. Her grandparents on the other hand can never bring themselves to discipline her at all, since they feel their little sunshine has suffered so terribly that they can't possibly be strict with her. Andrea is prepared to obey rules if - and only if - their reasons have been explained to her. Otherwise she'll ignore them at her leisure and tends to sulk industriously when she's punished - unless she's really made understand what she's done wrong. When Andrea is feeling sullen, kindness or petting won't rouse her, she'll only snap, grow rude or ignore it, because the girl has succeeded in shielding herself behind a thick wall of pride, and hates, loathes and detests apologising for her misdeeds. However, she will do it, if she herself thinks that she's behaved badly, but only then. As she doesn't want to hurt others, if she finds she's done that, she does try to make it up and swallows her pride in order to beg their forgiveness. Unfortunately, though usually even-tempered, once she is truly roused, she'll lash out at anyone who happens to come along and not only at the one who's responsible for that. Andrea will have to learn control and obedience some time. As far as school is concerned, there is a mixed report to be given. Andrea is highly intelligent, an inveterate bookworm and ready to learn - as long as she's interested. But if she isn't, she simply skims over her prep and only does enough not to fail completely. She is particularly interested in Ancient Runes and Arithmancy, which, to her chagrin she'll only be allowed to take from third year onwards, as well as potions, where she enjoys dabbling with various ingredients and looks forward to DADA, which she sees as highly necessary, not surprisingly, considering her story. Care of Magical Creatures appeals to her as well, since she gets to meet animals there and always has the chance to possibly make friends with them. As far as astronomy is concerned, she does love the story part and she even mildly enjoys working with numbers, but why on earth does she have to draw constellations and such like? As to charms - that is just necessary, as even Andrea recognises and whenever she's interested in a charm, she works hard, if she isn't, well, that's just too bad. Transfiguration simply seems too much like hard work for her - and anyway, why should anyone want to transform things? Far easier to get whatever you want right away instead of going to all this trouble simply to transform a needle into a button or vice versa. Andrea deeply loves animals and they are attracted to her, often coming to her and following her around. Her dog and her cat actually threw themselves in front of her when the Death Eaters tried to kill her as well and her dog died in consequence, making Andrea feel even more guilty, which she's tried to hide.
history; mother; Diana Wilson, formerly Chester - killed by Death Eaters after having been crucioed in front of her daugter. Diana used to be an auror. Half-blood of sorts, i.e. Diana's grandfather was a muggle.
father; John Wilson is an auror as well and used to behave as if he blamed his daughter Andrea for his wife's death, since Diana was killed on Andrea's 10th birthday when she stayed home from work in order to celebrate with their daughter. However, if I'm going to start as a firstie, I'd rather he still appeared to blame me, otherwise it's up to you whether you did help me or not or whatever. John Wilson is still very stern and distanced because something of himself seems to have died with his wife, namely his laughter and his joy of life. He is fiercely protective of his daughter and keeps restricting her movements.
siblings: None
significant family members; Grandparents: Vanessa and Jack Chester They live in Wales close to Ceir Idris. Vanessa is still working as an auror, while Jack used to teach Ancient Runes and keeps plying Andrea with stories about the gods, goddesses and magicians and their various runes, thus instilling a strong love towards all these things in Andrea. Both love hiking and have often taken Andrea with them, also allowing her to enjoy nature on her own and roam more or less freely across the countryside. Len (Helen) and James Wilson Their home is in Ely, in Cambridgeshire and once again both of them have always allowed and even encouraged Andrea to enjoy the Fen country, which is such a contrast to her native Sussex Downs and Weald, though the marsh does bear some resemblence. Len Wilson is a potions master and has often allowed Andrea to watch, while James Wilson, the only one apart from her father who at least occassionally tries to be strict with Andrea, is an auror once more. Though both sets of grandparents are magical, some of Andrea's aunts and uncles aren't and there's always been a history of intermarriage with Muggles in both the Wilson and the Chester family
history;; Andrea has grown up in Haywards Heath in Susses, in the South of England. This is a very small town with an even smaller magical community and the Wilsons live close to the edge of the town, beside a brook and a large meadow, which merges into a forest.
Andrea has grown up with lots of animals around her since her parents consider animals very important and love them as well, thus she used to have a dog - which died when it threw herself in front of Andrea when their house was attacked by Death Eaters.
As already mentioned, Diana Chester, Andrea's mum was killed about a year ago, actually right on Andrea's tenth birthday, when she stayed at home from her work as an auror in order to have time for her daughter and to make this a very special day. It certainly was - but not for the usual reasons, 'cause around eleven am Death Eaters attacked and started to crucio Diana Chester in order to get some information about the order out of her. She managed to get rid of three of them, but the other five overpowered her. She tried to protect her daughter and was finally killed when she refused to give them the information they desired - everything in front of terrified, little Andrea, who was made to watch, in hopes that this would convince her mother to give up the information they wanted.
Sicne she didn't, they finally killed her and then meant to have some fun with Andrea, but keep her alive till her father comes home in order to get him to yield the required information, but her animals, her cat Joy, her dog, her owl and her rabbits placed themselves in front of her and managed to save her till her father and her uncle came and overpowered the Death Eaters. Unfortunately, her dog was killed since the Death Eaters meant to at least kill Andrea as well, if they couldn't use her, but her dog took the curse as all the animals were trying to protect the small girl.
Additional: John Wilson would like his daughter to learn occlumency and has sent a letter to the headmaster Professor Snape to that effect. Since John is an order member, he is well aware of the dangers to his child and also that it might be safer for her to occlude her mind. He knows that despite her seriousness, his girl is still very childish and though he has impressed on her the necessity of good behaviour particularly towards the potions and DADA professors, he knows Andrea too well to be at ease, which is also one reason why he's begged Headmaster Snape in a secret message to keep an eye on his daughter, plus, occlumency might actually help her.
His secret letter, which nobody but Snape could open, had been very honest, and therefore John Wilson hasn't glossed over his daughter's shortcomings either, readily admitting to her temper tantrums, sulkiness and stubbornness, asking the headmaster to do something about it, if possible, for not only hasn't he managed to make Andrea get rid of these traits, he's also afraid of what might happen, should she fly into a rage with one of the two Death Eater professors. And though je expects Snape to be hard on Andrea, he knows that this will be for her own good - and that could certainly not be said about those Death Eaters .....
role playing; Andrea was tiptoeing round the corner after light's out, determined to explore the castle in peace in quiet. After all, she couldn't sleep anyway, so why shouldn't she explore? The small girl was only clad in her sky-blue pyjamas, since she'd forgotten to put on anything warmer and presented a decidedly incongruous picture in the dark corridors.
She was clutching her wand in her right hand, but hadn't cast "Lumos", since the moonlight was streaming through the high windows and provided ample light for her to see by. When Andrea discovered a picture of a unicorn with its foal, she stepped closer, mesmerised.
Her eyes were locked on the picture and she was so absorbed, that she never noticed the footsteps coming nearer. She was lost in a dream and started talking softly to the unicorns, who came close to the frame of their painting and actually conversed with the small girl, to Andrea's obvious enchantment.

Accepted! You've been sorted into Ravenclaw!
However, Sami and I have some pointers: Firstly, I'm not sure if you want to age her up just a tad? It's not because we're opposed to eleven-year-olds on the site, but because it might be hard for her to interact with people, since most characters might be older than that. Also, since she is apparently good at some classes, that seems a bit more believable if she's older. [This you don't need to change, however.] Secondly, we loved your role playing sample, but, in the future, if you could try and write a bit more that would be great.

I'll make her a third year, o.k.? And yes, normally I will write more when role-playing, it's just that I prefer doing that when I'm actually rping .... Thanks! I'll just change the age.
